Pattern Making

The pattern maker is a strategic player for a company interested in clothing manufacturing; he transforms the drawing of the stylist into a pattern.
His job consists of creating the pattern: from the project to the prototype.
He has to follow precisely the stylist’s idea, maintaining proportion and style of the drawing.
The fundamental qualities he needs to have are the following: creativity, technique, organization and interpretation.
The pattern maker also needs a familiarity with the human anatomy.
He is the middle man among various workers in the company in order to safeguard its economy.
He ensures the dress fit, thanks to the sartorial skills to be able to sew the test fabric, in order to safeguard the company’s economy.
The pattern maker has to supervise the prototype production and direct its creation to guarantee the industrial reproduction and then to provide to the pattern grading.

Weekly attendance: 4 lessons

INTENSIVE

Course duration: 8 months
Weekly attendance: 8 lessons

Course registration can be done in any month of the year.

Final examination with an external commission at the headquarters of the Istituto Burgo in Milan,for the issue of the Diploma.
Accredited by the Lombardy Region as an operator for training with no. 811
